Loss to Marlins Extends Santa Barbara Losing Streak
Jesús Velázquez added some punch to the Ft. Myers offense, helping them outmuscle the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 9-7. In the game, Velázquez, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2044 draft, was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Luke Robb got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. The losses continue to mount for Santa Barbara, which has now dropped 6 in a row.

Ft. Myers took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, Carlos Velardes stroked a run-scoring single to make it 8-7, Marlins.

Marlins manager Morton Kelly wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
