The New Orleans Voodoo picked up a win at The Voodoo Lounge, knocking off the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, 9-2. Starting pitcher Huibert Illidge was a big reason why. The Voodoo improved to 27-28.

Pancho Hernández was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for New Orleans. The 30-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jeff McFarland. It was his 17th RBI of the season.

"Feels good to get the job done," Hernández said after the game.
