Bakersfield Beats Ft. Myers, 5-1
|
Bakersfield starter Miguel López put a stranglehold on the Ft. Myers offense. The right-hander had complete command of his forkball in leading the Nobles to a 5-1 win. Bakersfield has now won 4 straight, while the Marlins have lost 5 in a row.
Bakersfield used the bat of Jorge Gómez to capture the win. The designated hitter jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Nobles ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Bakersfield manager Jesús Román. "It's usually not just one thing."
