The Monongahela Monsters eked out a 2-1 win versus the Austin Black Mambas at Mamba Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Júlio Castillo. He was terrific. The winning pitcher was Castillo, now 3-4. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. With the win, the Monsters improved to 30-24.

Monongahela relied on the hitting of Brenton Hale to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Monsters on top, 2-1. For the game, Hale had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Castillo said.
