The Austin Black Mambas got a superb performance from pitcher Pat Pierce. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Pennsauken. The Flyers won the game, 2-1. Pierce threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Earning his 3rd save for Pennsauken was Tim Winson. The 9th-place Flyers are now 20-30, the Black Mambas 20-30.

The Flyers got a big hit from third baseman Jeff Childs. In the top of the fifth, Childs pounded a run-scoring triple to left-center. His 1st triple of the season put the Flyers ahead, 2-1.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Childs.
