The Monongahela Monsters topped the Calgary Lynx, 2-0, in USSL Triple A action at Lynx Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Monongahela pitcher Brian Folger. Folger went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 0, and struck out 1. His record improves to 2-0. The save was credited to Gerald Currer, his 4th.

Monongahela used the timely hitting of Junior Young to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Monsters on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The old adage is true," said Young. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
