Black Mambas Snag 5-2 Win
|
The Austin Black Mambas stopped the Monongahela Monsters, 5-2, at Timber Hawks Ballpark. The Black Mambas got a big game from Donnie Haggard, who was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Earning his 6th save of the year was Eric Ramírez. The win makes Austin 16-20.
Austin used the timely hitting of Eric Compton to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Black Mambas on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Compton told the Austin Bulletin.
