The Austin Black Mambas topped the Monongahela Monsters, 13-4, with first baseman Eric Compton playing a big role. Compton went 2 for 6 with a home run. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Black Mambas in the win. The Black Mambas move to 15-20 with the win, while the Monsters drop to 20-15.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Compton delivered big-time for Austin, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Gerald Currer. The game-changing hit put the Black Mambas on top, 5-4.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Compton told a Austin Bulletin reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
