Lynx Lose Again, 5-4, to Black Mambas

The Austin Black Mambas did just enough to secure a victory over the Calgary Lynx, 5-4, at Mamba Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Pat Pierce. In 7 innings, Pierce surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. He allowed 4 runs. Javier Rúbio earned the save for Austin, his 1st.
Donnie Haggard, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2039 draft, aided the Austin cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter drew 1 walk.
"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Haggard said (again).
Austin now has a 3-game win streak.
