Marlins Get One-Run Win at Hartford
|
The Hartford Pride got a superb performance from pitcher Wessel de Best. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ft. Myers. The Marlins won the game, 2-1. de Best threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Ricardo Ramírez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 3-1. Hartford has now lost 4 in a row.
Ft. Myers relied on the hitting of Sam Collins to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Marlins on top, 1-0. For the game, Collins had 1 home run and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"This was a tough loss," said Hartford manager Howard Dale. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
