The Austin Black Mambas topped the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 6-5, in 13 innings. Austin center fielder David Taylor, in particular, was impressive. He went 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The win was credited to Javier Rúbio in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Stephen Hollingsworth took the loss. Austin goes to 6-13.

The Black Mambas procured the win, in large part because of left fielder Ed Haynes. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
