Santa Barbara starter Brad Duncan put a stranglehold on the Pennsauken offense. The left-hander had complete command of his splitter in leading the Golden Cranes to a 4-1 win. Duncan, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Pennsauken is now 5-10.

Santa Barbara used the clutch hitting of Roger Smith to snag the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Golden Cranes ahead, 1-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Carlos Vela.
