Flyers Overcome Gem from McCord, Pull Out Win
The Monongahela Monsters got a superb performance from pitcher Richard McCord, but the Pennsauken Flyers still won the game, 8-7. McCord came in in relief and pitched to 20 batters. Noah Blin snagged the win in relief. In 1.1 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 1-0 on the season. Carlos Sainz, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

One of the key players for the Flyers was left fielder Juan Rivera, who drilled a 2-run double in the bottom of the second inning. For the game, Rivera was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Rivera.

With the loss, Monongahela is 5-4.
