Young Stars in 9-1 Monsters Win
|
The Monongahela Monsters handed the Pennsauken Flyers a loss at Pennsauken Park. The final score was 9-1. Junior Young made the highlight reel for Monongahela. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 4. He also added 2 bases on balls. The loss drops Pennsauken to 4-4.
Young contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Monongahela in the top of the second. With his team trailing 1-0, Young took a curveball from Tony Modlin and stroked the home run to left. His 1st home run of the season allowed the Monsters to leap in front, 3-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Young told the Monongahela Herald.
