Andrew Johnson could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Nova Scotia Leviathan lost, dropping a 2-0 decision to the New Orleans Voodoo at The Dungeon in Halifax. Bill Lawrence picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Andrew Johnson was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Shintaro Oyama, his 1st.
New Orleans used the timely hitting of Anthony Roosemont to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Voodoo on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Ah, the sweet taste of victory," Roosemont crowed after the game.
With the win, New Orleans pushed its record to 25-24.
