Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Lynx
Crane Field was the site of the home opener for the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes. The contest featured a prime matchup between Todd Wallace of the visiting Calgary Lynx and Bryan Griffin of the Golden Cranes. The final score was 4-1, the Lynx getting the win. Todd Wallace turned in the best performance. The win was credited to Yuri Antonissen in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Nathan Jordan took the loss.

Calgary used a clutch hit from Sumitomo Shimizu to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Lynx ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Shimizu told the Calgary Gazette.
