Despite a great performance by Bethesda left fielder Andrew McCaffery, the St. Petersburg Thunder defeated the Atoms by the score of 14-11 at Baby Thunder Dome. McCaffery went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. St. Petersburg is now 3-0.

Melchor Tagle won the game for St. Petersburg when homered off Jorge Quiñonez in the bottom of the 13th.

In postgame remarks, Tagle simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
