Dodos Lose to Brass in Walk Off
|
Brass Field hosted a real pitchers' duel.
In a tight affair between the Baton Rouge Brass and the Hialeah Dodos, pitcher Wing-chiu Che was in the zone. The Baton Rouge right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-1. The winner in relief was Ronnie Gómez. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 2-5.
Baton Rouge won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With no outs and Dan Carter on the mound for Hialeah, designated hitter Andrés Torres hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Brass fans to their feet.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Torres said in his postgame press conference.
At 49-50, the Brass claim 5th place in the Premier AAA.
