The Hialeah Dodos stopped the Baton Rouge Brass, 5-4, at Brass Field. The Dodos got a big game from Ronald Dacanay, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. George Butler got the win, improving to 2-9. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Grant Gremel sewed up the save, his 1st.
Hialeah relied on the hitting of António Orozco to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Dodos on top, 3-0. For the game, Orozco had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Orozco said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The victory puts Hialeah at 33-64.
