Salt Lake City Beats Kansas, 2-1
|
Salt Lake City Buzz starter Jorge Valdéz turned in an exceptional performance against the Kansas Rainbeaus at Wichita Field, resulting in a Salt Lake City win, 2-1. Will Sovaiala, credited with the save, is now 7 for 8 in save opportunities. With the victory, the Buzz upped their record to 59-38.
Salt Lake City used the timely hitting of Nick Yeend to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Buzz ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Yeend called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
