Tritons Go Down to Defeat, 7-4
|
Ernesto Fernández had a good game, but he could not keep the Jersey City Tritons from falling, 7-4, to the Alaskan Humpbacks at Sea World. The Jersey City first baseman went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 in the loss. Alaskan reliever Tony Wille was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Marty Logan took the loss. Alaskan has a 4-game win streak, while Jersey City has lost 3 in a row.
In the bottom of the seventh, Alaskan shortstop Abel Risinger hit a two-strike changeup to right field for a run-scoring single. It put the Humpbacks up, 4-3.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Risinger told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
