The Syracuse Starks got a superb performance from pitcher Hendrikjan Zweers. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kansas. The Rainbeaus won the game, 7-6. Zweers came in in relief and pitched to 19 batters. Rich Frost, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-3. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 4. Kansas currently is in 7th place in the Premier AAA at 45-47.

Kansas relied on the hitting of Les Gillett to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Rainbeaus on top, 7-0. For the game, Gillett had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
