Mockingbirds Upend Dirty Reds, 3-1
|
Mississippi and San Mateo played a hard-fought contest.
Mississippi Mockingbirds starter Noud Taaij turned in an exceptional performance against the San Mateo Dirty Reds at Lang Park, resulting in a Mississippi win, 3-1. Taaij picked up the win for Mississippi, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. Amin Yahouse earned the save for Mississippi, his 7th.
Jorge Sánchez, the Mississippi catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to make the score 2-0, Mockingbirds. For the game, Sánchez was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped San Mateo manager David Dodds. "Obviously."
