Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Jersey City Tritons and Baton Rouge Brass.
Baton Rouge designated hitter Andrés Torres was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Jersey City beat the Brass, 6-4. The winner was Jason O'Rorke, who threw 97 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits. Jonathan Young earned the save, his 9th, for the Tritons.
The Tritons got a lift from right fielder Mike Reynolds, who in the top of the first hit a run-scoring double. His 11th double of the season put the Tritons on top, 2-0.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Reynolds told the Jersey City Today.
