The New Orleans Voodoo had to overcome a fine effort from Hollywood pitcher Tony Cowan to grab a narrow 1-0 win at The Voodoo Lounge. Cowan went 8 innings and allowed no runs. The winner in relief was Tim Strong. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 3-0. The Voodoo, at 24-23, sit in 4th place in the Premier League.
The Voodoo procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Obke Veenman. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.
"I like what I saw today," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
