Squirrel Monkeys Score Late to Upend Brass, 5-3
|
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys picked up a win at The Zoo in Syracuse, knocking off the Baton Rouge Brass, 5-3. Starting pitcher Steve Gourin was a big reason why. The Squirrel Monkeys, at 46-38, sit in third place in the Premier AAA.
Colton Pennington tagged a home run off Carlos Rosado in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run blast put the Squirrel Monkeys on top, 5-3. In all, Pennington had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Gourin. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
