The Sacramento Redlegs racked up a win at Sacramento Sanitation Station, bumping off the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 6-4. Flavio Lapo, who started for Sacramento, pitched effectively for his team. Félix Hernández finished to wrap up his 20th save. Sacramento goes to 37-42, Athletic Club KC to 43-36.

The Reserves had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Redlegs going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old first baseman Reynaldo Cruz came to the plate. Cruz hit a 2-run double on a full count fastball from Athletic Club KC hurler Tim Walker. It was Cruz's 12th double of the year.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Lapo. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
