SYRACUSE STARKS AT ATHLETIC CLUB KC RESERVES

Despite a great performance by Syracuse catcher Pedro Costa, the Athletic Club KC Reserves defeated the Starks by the score of 8-4 at KC Reserve Stadium. Costa went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jamie Miller got the win, improving to 8-2. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 4. Picking up the save was Horace Smith, his 3rd.

The Reserves got an important contribution from third baseman David Alcabú, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 1-1 fastball into left for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 3rd triple of the season and put the Reserves ahead, 6-1.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Athletic Club KC skipper Roy Clay.

Athletic Club KC currently is in third place in the Premier AAA at 43-35.
