Redlegs Defeat Tritons, 3-2
|
The Redlegs grabbed a win, 3-2, at Sacramento Sanitation Station, overcoming a fine effort from Jersey City pitcher Mike Bergquist. Bergquist went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Sacramento reliever Félix Hernández picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Jonathan Young was saddled with the loss. Sacramento is now 34-38. Jersey City is 38-34.
The Redlegs relied on first baseman Yoshihide Tanaka for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"Every loss hurts," said Jersey City manager Darryl Gordon. "But this was a tough one."
