Squirrel Monkeys Rally to Eke Out Win
The Baton Rouge Brass got a superb performance from pitcher Kelly Knowles. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Syracuse. The Squirrel Monkeys won the game, 4-3. Knowles threw 6.0 innings allowing 3 runs. Juan González finished to wrap up his 1st save. Syracuse is 39-29 and Baton Rouge, with the loss, 36-32.

Syracuse used a clutch hit from Chad Holland to get the win. The second baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a test of wills," said Jorge Villanueva, the Syracuse skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
