In the 5-3 Syracuse win over Kansas, the impact of Silvio Capitanio was substantial. Capitanio, who is tied for 4th in the PAAA in stolen bases with 7, went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. Syracuse reliever Cisco García picked up the win, upping his record to 6-1. António Vázquez took the loss. At 24-34, Syracuse is in 9th place in the Premier AAA.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Buddy Patton to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Starks ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"It feels good to get this one," Capitanio told the Syracuse Today.
