Ken Bates never let the Brass get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Humpbacks to a win, 3-1. The Humpbacks, now 30-25, have won 7 in a row.

Had Darren Gordam not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Gordam hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Humpbacks.
