Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds and Port Royal Disaster.

The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds withstood an impressive performance by Port Royal center fielder Elwood Lee to defeat the Disaster, 5-3, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Lee went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2. With the win, Ellenburg pushed its record to 59-42.

Ernest Crane, who is tied for 4th in the 3AAA in stolen bases with 19, helped out the Ellenburg cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder drew 1 walk.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ellenburg manager Justin Broadfoot.
