Redlegs Squelch Starks Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Sacramento Redlegs picked up a win at Sacramento Sanitation Station, courtesy of Dylan Kempink. The right-hander helped his team stop the Syracuse Starks, 3-0. Kempink got the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed 3 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. Kempink allowed no runs. Félix Hernández sewed up the save, his 14th.
With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Richard Marshall had a game-changing hit. The Redlegs third baseman slammed a 2-run single off Mike Park, making the score 3-0, Sacramento.
Marshall attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Sacramento currently is in 7th place in the Premier AAA at 22-24.
