The Syracuse Starks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Jim Jordan, who stifled the Salt Lake City offense en route to a 2-0 Starks win at Stark Stadium. Syracuse has 3 straight wins, Salt Lake City 3 straight losses.

Syracuse won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With no outs and Nicolaas Eland on the mound for Salt Lake City, first baseman Byron Ballard hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Starks fans to their feet.
