Lake Monsters Suffer 3-1 Setback
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters got a superb performance from pitcher Andrew Shoemaker. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Florida. The Men won the game, 3-1. Shoemaker threw 6.0 innings of shutout ball. Florida is 11th in the Menard's AAA with a record of 36-56.
Florida used the clutch hitting of Michael Wallace to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Men ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Wallace said.
