White Walkers Come Back Late, Nip Dirty Reds
|
San Mateo got a terrific performance from pitcher Yin-reng Fong, but it wasn't enough to beat the Buffalo White Walkers. Buffalo won the Beyond the Wall contest, 4-3. Fong threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Buffalo reliever Mario Rosales picked up the win, while Justin Frederick took the loss for San Mateo. With this game in the books, Buffalo is 29-13, San Mateo 22-20.
Daniel Marley took Justin Frederick deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the White Walkers on top, 4-3. In all, Marley had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Marley told the Buffalo Chronicle.
