Red Pandas Suffer 3-1 Loss to Port Royal
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Port Royal Disaster and the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, Rubén López was the difference-maker. The Port Royal left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. López, now 6-4, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Batu Khan, credited with the save, is now 19 for 23 in save opportunities.
The Disaster got a big at-bat from catcher Bryan Spilsbury. For the game, Spilsbury went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Port Royal a 2-0 lead.
"We'll put that win in the can," said López, "and go after the next one."
The victory gives Port Royal a record of 51-40.
