The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds weathered a fine game by Plymouth designated hitter Nick Davis to upend the Rocks, 6-5, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Davis was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Ellenburg reliever Bernardo Hernández picked up the win, upping his record to 4-5. Tony Figueroa absorbed the loss. Ellenburg is now 54-37, while Plymouth is 45-46.

Neal Lewis was the walk-off hero for Ellenburg. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Fighting Dachshunds designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Lewis said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
