Syracuse third baseman Justin Schock had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-5, to Hialeah at The Zoo in Syracuse. Schock went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. The winner was Hialeah reliever Eric Hurt, now 1-0. The loser was Hsiao-lou Lei. The Dodos sit in 9th place in the Premier AAA with a record of 13-23.

Hialeah used the timely hitting of Lee Montgomery to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dodos ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Montgomery told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
