Thunder Get Close Win Over Atoms, 2-1
The 2050 season is off to a good start for the St. Petersburg Thunder. The hometown Thunder knocked off the Bethesda Atoms, 2-1, at Baby Thunder Dome. St. Petersburg pitcher Joe Belcher paced his team to the win.

Alex Baxter was the walk-off hero for St. Petersburg. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Thunder shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Ted Hansen.
