Rainbeaus Bump Off Brass, 5-0
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus racked up a win at Brass Field, bumping off the Baton Rouge Brass, 5-0. Rich Frost, who started for Kansas, pitched effectively for his team. Frost went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 2-2. The 8th-place Rainbeaus lifted their record to 14-19.
Tied up with the Brass in the top of the fifth inning, the Rainbeaus got a boost from catcher Pablo Morterero. With the bases loaded, Morterero saw a 3-1 fastball from Herb Willis and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Kansas on top, 2-0.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Daniel Edwards.
