Blitzkrieg Pick Up 3-1 Win
|
Josuke Okumura could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Pawnee ParksNRec lost, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Port Huron Blitzkrieg at Whips Ballpark. Gustavo Rivera got credit for the win, improving to 2-6. He allowed 1 run on 9 hits in 5.2 innings. Cristo Sánchez converted his 19th save in 20 tries.
Port Huron used a well-timed hit by Tom Gray to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blitzkrieg ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Edward Whipp.
Pawnee is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
