Sacramento turned a good effort from starter Dylan Kempink into a win over the Salt Lake City Buzz at Spirits Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Félix Hernández, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 10th save. The 7th-place Redlegs raised their record to 14-17.

Sacramento relied on the bat of Duane Mullins to get the win. The second baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Redlegs ahead, 3-2. For the game, Mullins had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Kempink told the Sacramento Gazette.
