Squirrel Monkeys Bump Off Starks, 6-3
|
Syracuse designated hitter Ed Mellor made his presence felt in the 6-3 Squirrel Monkeys triumph over the Syracuse Starks. Mellor went 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Squirrel Monkeys have an impressive 21-7 record.
The Squirrel Monkeys got an important contribution from third baseman Stone Wright, who in the bottom of the first hit a curveball into right-center for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 3-0.
"It feels good to get this one," Mellor told the Syracuse Bulletin.
