Lake Monsters Lose 4-1 Decision to Fighting Dachshunds
|
Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds starter Anastasio Ayala was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-1. Ayala got the win, improving to 7-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Ayala allowed 1 run. The 'W' lifts Ellenburg's record to 49-32.
The Fighting Dachshunds got an important contribution from designated hitter Neal Lewis, who in the bottom of the fourth knocked a 0-1 fastball into center for a 2-run double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Fighting Dachshunds ahead, 2-1.
"It was a good effort all around," said Lewis.
