Baton Rouge rode a good effort from starter Ángel Díaz to beat the Athletic Club KC Reserves at KC Reserve Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Ronnie Gómez closed the door for Baton Rouge, picking up his 2nd save of the year. The Brass improved to 11-10.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Liam Hunt's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Baton Rouge third baseman hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"The fans pay the tickets and help us do what we do, so we like to put on a show for them," Díaz told the Baton Rouge Bulletin.
