Kansas used a superb performance from starting pitcher Bernard Miller to down the Sacramento Redlegs, 3-1. António Vázquez closed it out for his 3rd save. The Rainbeaus have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 7th win in 20 games.
The Rainbeaus had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Kansas, with no one out. Sacramento, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Carlos Rosales dug in at the plate, but on a first pitch forkball, he grounded out.
