The home crowd had a good time watching the Hamilton Thunderbirds and Milton Dogfish Head get after it.
Milton beat Hamilton on the strength of starter Juan Cruz's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. Cruz, now 4-6, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Eric Summers sewed up the save, his 6th.
Mark Mears, who is tied for 9th in the 3AAA in RBI with 36, chipped in for Milton with a 2-run single in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"I had everything working," said Cruz.
Milton's record now stands at 36-31, placing them 6th in the Menard's AAA.
