Red Pandas Take Down Thunderbirds, 6-2
|
Alonso Romo was instrumental in his team's 6-2 triumph over the Hamilton Thunderbirds. The center fielder went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs for the Sioux Falls Red Pandas. Hisham Daud converted his 2nd save in 2 tries. Sioux Falls is now 32-29, Hamilton 36-25.
Romo contributed a big hit, a 2-run double, for Sioux Falls in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Romo took a fastball from Dan McIntyre and stroked the double to right. His 3rd double of the season allowed the Red Pandas to leap in front, 3-2.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Romo told the Sioux Falls Observer.
